Meer Mustafa is a scientist with experience in both the wet- and dry-lab, applying functional genomic screens, quantitative methods, and human genetics to develop therapeutics for human diseases.
He is a Sr Data Scientist at BigHat Biosciences and formerly at 23andMe Therapeutics and Alector working on neurodegenerative diseases and immuno-oncology. Previously, he was a research associate in Neville Sanjana’s lab at the New York Genome Center and New York University. Prior to that, he was an undergraduate researcher in Leonidas Bleris‘ & Faruck Morcos’ labs at UT Dallas.
He and his brother, Raman, participate as a fundraising team to raise awareness & money for Parkinson’s Disease research.
He loves chatting about all things science and has talked with magazines such as Any_ about genome editing.
